About my Academic Career...
Dr. phil. Marie-Luise Reinhard-Mika, M.Ed. (Latin, French) from Mainz and Tours University and former graduate assistant under Prof. Christine Walde (Mainz), has acquired considerable skills of written and spoken Latin. Not only did she win the Pretium Petronianum 2017, a prestigious competition for prose composition, which she not only tutored, but where she was also able to pass on her ideas of including spoken Latin in Latin Didactics in various talks and articles. She was awarded the First Prize from the Department for Historical and Cultural Studies in Mainz for her transdisciplinary Master's thesis 'In new ways back – On the necessity of spoken Latin'.
Her simultaneous interest also in the history of classical scholarship led to her Ph.D. thesis that focuses on Johann Matthias Gesner’s (1691-1761) ideas about Latin instruction.
In the meantime, she has been awarded a scholarship from the Rome Tor Vergata, University, where she is supervised by Prof. Fabio Stok and Prof. Christine Walde. Furthermore, she has received a scholarship from the Collegio Universitario della Federazione Nazionale dei Cavalieri del Lavoro in Rome where she regularly taught subjects related to her thesis.
